The Netherlands are a group of provinces located in north-western Europe. The region is below sea-level and is best known for its many canals, picturesque windmills, colorful flower fields, and an abundance of art, culture, and history. Open to all majors, the KIIS Netherlands 4-week program focuses on urban design and planning, and the associated areas of place branding, sustainability, commercial and social responsibility, conceptions of the smart city, merchandising, economics, engineering, and agricultural and hydrology practices identified with Dutch cities and places. The city of Utrecht will serve as our home base with excursions to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague.
All courses are taught in English and are worth 3 credits. Students select 1-2 courses. Course descriptions and syllabi are available for download from the KIIS website.
