Program Description
Since 1990, the KIIS summer program in Salzburg, Austria has offered students a unique opportunity to study, practice, and perform music in this beautiful European city. Birthplace of Mozart and home to the world famousMozarteumSalzburg has long been renowned as an international and historical music center.

Salzburg is also a city of stunning architecture. Founded in the 8th Century, Salzburg displays evidence of Roman culture, the Middle Ages (notably the Festung, the largest fortress in central Europe), and wonderfully-preserved Baroque buildings. Situated on the banks of the Salzach River, nestled near the Alps, home to three universities, and filled with hospitable people, Salzburg indeed is a magical city.

The Salzburg program lasts four weeks and is geared towards music majors. Both vocal and instrumental courses are offered in English and students have the opportunity to participate in choral and instrumental performances as part of their Salzburg study abroad experience. Like all visitors to Salzburg, KIIS students enjoy free concerts at the Mozarteum. On weekends, students may travel independently in Austria and beyond.V
